Carolyn graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelors of the Arts degree in History, and obtained her Juris Doctorate degree from University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. During law school, she worked for several District Attorney offices in Northern California, obtaining courtroom experience early on in her career.

After graduating law school, Carolyn passed the bar and worked as a Deputy District Attorney trying many jury trials including serious felonies through verdict successfully.

Carolyn left criminal prosecution and joined a non-profit organization as their Legal Program Director. There, she supervised a legal team of employees and volunteers handling family law cases, TROs and related matters. Ms. Walker also actively created and provided education to law enforcement, other attorneys and colleagues both locally and throughout the state. Carolyn lead the team that established Tehama County's SART (Sexual Assault Response Team) which remains an important program for the community today.

Carolyn then joined a local municipal law firm in Northern California where she practiced municipal law. Carolyn handled all aspects of municipal law including public contracting, law enforcement, code enforcement, public guardianships, employment, labor negotiations, redistricting, dependency, non-profit and civil litigation. Ms. Walker also was an active member of the firm’s training and presentation team.

Carolyn has served as City Attorney in Willows, Ione, Etna and Fort Jones.  She has served as Deputy County Counsel in Tehama, Lassen, Modoc and Sierra counties as well as local special districts and non-profit organizations.

In addition to her legal career, Carolyn is active in her community and with her busy family.  Carolyn is the President of a local school's parent organization, and often coaches her children's sports teams, as well as regularly supporting local non-profits and charitable events.
